Vacuum pumps for resin conveying fall into three groups. Regenerative pumps suit short to moderate runs, roughly 350 to 600 equivalent feet, but move air fast enough to cause angel hair and fines. Positive displacement pumps cover standard to long runs of 750 to 1,000 equivalent feet at lower velocity. Claw pumps are reserved for distances beyond 1,000 equivalent feet or dense materials.
